Too slow Really stupid questions. No category choices. Really slow to play. App and functionality is okay
Cool game but... It ask a lot of tough questions. I'm not saying it's a bad game because of it but just be prepared top go 3 for 10 in a lot of games. I guess if you look at it like a baseball batter that's a pretty good average.
Good start This could be really great. It needs more styles of questions and a semblance of a difficulty curve.
Good fun Would be great if questions were localised, some of the US area code questions were lost on us
America-centric? Questions require weird specialist knowledge / luck.
Great start, but certainly room for improvement. I enjoy the simplicity and theme of the app, however it is missing some key features. The way it retrieves the questions should be configurable. You should be able to choose if you just want geography, sports questions, or even questions that are new than x date, so that the younger generation will be able to participate more. I found the questions which asked how many such and such actor is a particular mountain very repetitive. I hope these suggestions can help make this a better app.
Big Web Quiz by Google is a great fun Chromecast game. Any age (smart 10 yr.-old to adult of any intellect) can play because it's so cleverly handicapped. To the ones giving poor reviews, here's a helpful hint: it's fun when played by two or more players. You can't judge it based on playing it by yourself - get out of the basement, make some friends IRL and give it a try.
Not serious, just fun I really had no idea what to expect from this game but I was blown away by the idea. Yes the questions like "how many Justin Biebers does it to equal the hight of Mt. Everest" are weird but just need to drop those. I do wish that there more factual questions or categories to choose from but I love the simplicity of it. It's a great game for a laugh and that's all it needs to be, for now. Can't wait to see what's next.
Simple (difficult) Game The game is simple. Who ever gets the most answers right wins. Connect from you tablet or phone (both android and ios work together) to your chrome cast and begin playing. Getting it setup is difficult. Once the host has created the game and is putting in his username your friends may now join. Takes forever to get a game created and the app could offer better music or displaying who is winning. 4/5*
Very cool but can't get friends to connect Suuuper cool idea but there are no useful instructions for what my friends should do to join in a game. The obvious answer is that they connect to the same chromecast but that either leaves them hanging or asks to start a new quiz. Hopefully it's just an early bug that will get squashed.
Polished game for Chromecast Family friendly without being childish, vibrant color, simple setup and play. It just works! Don't mind the fault-finding reviews from people who complain that the game isn't intense enough for their hardcore trivia needs - this is a party game and hits that nail square on the head.
Good questions, overall experience could be a lot better! This feels half baked to me to be honest. While some of the questions are fun and interesting.. the music choice in particular is extremely annoying. Fast bpm loops that I will guaranteed you will get sick of the first time you play it. I would recommend the authors of this app to study You Don't Know Jack's approach to the quiz game genre. We all will benefit from it.
Fun with room for improvement! It's a fun party trivia game as long as your not looking for a hardcore trivia game. The silly questions (how many x's tall is blank) are a bit too frequent and a greater variety of questions of a similar nature would be better. I also think being able to choose from categories or different modes would be good. For instance a party mode that has more of the silly questions (and more music and pop culture) and a tough mode that has more difficult questions.
Not Trivial Pursuit If you want pointless questions that all you can do is make an estimate at an answer, then this game is for you! What the hell. It's a guessing game. Nobody knows any of the answers and it's all luck. Please put some actual questions in this game. Quirky questions are what ruin this game.
Nearing the right idea This game is on the right track, but everything about the implementation is just wrong. The colors, sounds, difficulty, types of questions. Make it material design with a toned down color and sound pallet. Add a board game feel to on screen like racing around a track or something.
Needs options for categories Game loses its fun when it heads into obscure pop-culture references and height comparisons. Would be nice if you can specify fields of interests of auto generate a profile based off of correct answers to learn area of interests. Gets boring quickly when no one knows what the question is referencing.
Good app, terrible questions So fun to play with people. Great idea. The colors are terrible and sometimes hard to see because it's a bright text on bright background. The questions are terrible and repetitive. Don't expect to put your IQ to the test, it's pretty much guessing and who knows random facts about pop culture celebrities.
Good execution - questions lacking Great job in terms of concept, but the questions are a bit weak. Also, it would be awesome to get some context regarding the answers. For example, on the x is y many people tall questions, it never gives you a final answer in feet or meters. It could be informative with that type of feedback.
Great fun quiz game! Other reviewers are perhaps missing the point, the game is a quickfire fun quiz, the addition of the "how many elephants tall is mount everest" type questions help to level the playing field, this app remind me very much of a trivia version of Warioware on the wii
Dumb questions Well made game, but unless youve studied the height of every mountain and building in the world youll still be left guessing. Hopefully they put nore work into the questions some time.
Entertaining, but has room to improve Not good getting American specific questions (what's the state code for...) when you can surely determine if the players locale is US or not.
A Great Intro to Chromecast Games This game is awesome. It's silly, and a great time with friends. My only wish is that it had some more customization. Maybe some categories to choose from and different rounds and modes. All in all, great couch fun with friends!
Shows promise needs better questions If they had an in-app purchase to get rid of the "How many X's tall is Y?" I would break my thumbs hitting the purchase button too quickly. Seriously, get rid of those ridiculous questions and the game would be perfect.
Question are too random and bizzare too many have to be a random guess so no skill involved, moving background will give someone a seizure, too. Could be a good use of chromecast, please continue to improve It - oh and allow to specify country and make questions more relavant to my area
Lots of potential but terrible questions 80 percent of the questions are hideous. Google Knowledge Graph and search trends could be used way better to automatically generate questions... The app itself is good and Chromecast connections works almost perfectly!
Could of been fun.... Fun game mechanic, but the the content is so irrelevant that despite the kooky colours and music, it just ain't fun. I have the feeling that the content is computer generated: how many Carrie Underwood's high is Mount Fujimori? Who cares? With a little more careful content creation, this could be an awesome game!
A great Chromecast game This game has fun animations and silly curveball trivia questions, it's a great way to pass time together! When it asks you to arrange three nouns by rank is probably the hardest trivia type it has to offer.
Not bad Pretty fun, but the "how many Xs would be as tall as a Y" are a waste of a question. Nobody knows how tall these random things are, it's always a total guess. Also the "what song came out the year X was born" are usually guesses too since a lot of the songs are from the same era. It would be much better for music trivia to be "who sang X" or "what album was song Y on?"
Good local trivia game for Chromecast Good for a first release. Would like to see options where we could pick certain categories instead of just random questions. Also maybe choose from more avatars or be able to use ones from Androidify.
Good concept, not so well executed yet The colours and design is hideous. All it needs is simple material design, white background and some bright accent colours. Future versions should include genres for questions so they're not so vast and random.
Good but bad It's a awesome app but you guys should make a update to choose what kind of questions like history, science, math, health, etc and to ask us watch grades are we both in so they can ask questions of those levels
Great potential This game works really well. Within a short time we had 5 different devices connected and playing the game. Unfortunately the questions quickly get repetitive and boring. Too many questions about the heights of mountains/buildings and random album dates. With better questions this would be a solid 5 stars.
One of the best games on my phone A lot of people don't like this game because of the colors and ridiculous questions. But really, that's part of the fun! It's supposed to be crazy, and childish, and ridiculous. And that's what makes it fun.
Good idea, questions are bad I love the idea for this. But as someone who doesn't follow pop cultures I couldn't get into the questions. I'd really enjoy it if so much of the content didn't pertain to celebrities of the moment or if I could choose different topic areas. Also I'd really like to just play against other people in my living room.
I want to give 5 stars... This game and it's interface is amazing. Literally all that needs to be fixed here is the question bank. It is about 30 percent arbitrary comparisons that are pretty annoying. When all six players don't know the celebrity you're comparing to the height of an unknown dog breed... It's a bit disappointing.. More trivia questions about science, technology, geography, pop culture, current affairs, etc etc.
How often can you say that a free app provided a fun evening's entertainment for the whole family? While this game is far from perfect, it's intuitive, fun for all ages, and an outstanding proof of concept for what the Chromecast is capable of. I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with next.
The colors are a bit too... 1993? The questions can be very arbitrary. Game needs a bit more personality (compare and contrast with, say, You Don't Know Jack), but otherwise it has potential.
What a shame. This hasn't been updated since launch, and the majority of comments since then have simply asked for a little more variety in the questions. It's clear this app was put together for a holiday Chromecast push and has since been abandoned.
Fun game The quiz is really fun to play, the only thing I would like is more variation on the questions, they kind of get repetitive. Also, I would love a way to modify the color scheme, it is great but it makes dizzy after a while
