Great for learning piano I'm trying to learn piano after 6 years of playing only treble clef, this has actually really helped me solidify my knowledge of bass clef. The points are really confusing thiugh, but I don't care about that.
Too difficult for a beginner Each flashcard gives ALL instances of each note both in treble and bass clef: it's just too much to memorize. In test mode it asks them one by one. It would be better to be able to choose which clef to learn, or at least which one you want to be tested at. Second, testing mode is just that: testing - you get to know when you are wrong, but without being shown the correct answer, you won't learn anything from it.
For a free app, its great and simple Can a feature be added where you're considered wrong if you take more than 4 seconds to read a note?
What a great app I wish I could have learned this way when I first started out. Ive struggled with sight reading my whole life and finally at 36 years old I feel I have a tool that can help me. Great job developer.
Room for improvement This app is quite good but could be improved in several ways. 1. The flashing ad at the bottom of the screen is distracting, annoying and there is no paid version so cannot be removed. 2. A single clef only, or a smaller range of notes cannot be selected. 3. There is no sound. 4. If an incorrect note is chosen you are not told what the correct note is so you don't learn from your mistake. 5. The ap runs in portrait mode only. This is ok for those using it on a phone but not for those whose tablets are in stands or cases which keep the device in lanscape position. There is an auto rotate feature in all tablets yet so few developers actually use it. Not everyone uses apps on phones; a good many use tablets. 6. The highest score I achieved was by experimental "cheating". I rapidly pressed random keys, making over a hundred mistakes yet was given a score of 75%! This shows that the number of mistakes are ignored when calculating the score, yet if I played a piece of music and made a single reading mistake it is unlikely that it would go unnoticed and could be ignored. Consistent accuracy is as important as speed and needs to be reflected in the score.
Need to separate I live this app it is the only good free app for quizzing on notes but the bad part is u can not choose if it is treble or bass clef only
Gppd idea An5 chance of an option to do only bass or treble clef, also improve layout. Mosr time spent finding note.
Helped me a lot to recognize notes on both staves. I like the simplicity of it in general. Note buttons could be on the both sides of the screen for faster response, but it's not a deal breaker.
Good for learning to read music notes. Program is great for learning to read notes quickly. It doesn't grade accurately though.
Music Flashcards Good game-- wish it had been available when I was teaching piano.
Top App. Do it everyday and you will glance at a note and immediately identify it in just 3 weeks!
Very good but more ledger lines would do, maybe 3 more
Very good It's good for anyone who wants to learn and be able to read fast
Good, but only for pianists. No tenor or alto cleff.
The best app to exercise music reading skills
Very good Use this app if you are learning music.. really help
Awesome!! It is a great way to learn all the notes for music class
Great Great to practice angle identify notes. Thanks.
Awesome app...really inforces your memory of music notes.
Simple and effective The graphical layout of the "see notes" section is very helpful for getting the notes into my memory with visual recall. I think the scoring system is also awesome because of how clearly it shows what level of note reading I am at, and how far I have to go. The tiny size and non-invasive permissions is also a major draw-card.
Scoring inaccurate When taking the timed test it always says I''ve missed more notes than I actually have otherwise a great little app
Lacks depth Freezes and only supplies natural notes.
Love it! Great way to learn 3 + octaves of notes! I wish I had this as a kid when I studied piano. Developers thank you so much!
This is a great app. It is easy to use and well designed. It would be helpful to have some teachng cards so I can improve my score.
Music Flashcards Fantastic app!! Something Ive been looking for a long time. Very challeging.
Best one out there I have tried all the free music note apps. This one is by far the best. I use it all the time if i am somewhere like a waiting room, has definitely improved my sight reading. Is an excellent refresher if you havent been practicing any playing. Layout is easy to use and you see both Treble and Bass notes without switching. It also keeps your high score however the way it calculates the percentages is off since it doesn't account for your mistakes. Much funner then using flashcards.
Great Music learning app This is a great way to learn musical notes. It is easy to use and straight forward. Runs really well on my LG G2X running ICS (4.0.3). I recommend this for children or any person trying to learn how to read music.
