Great! When is this coming out for Android? I wish the fonts would scale larger on my Samsung S5. They are impossible to read. Controls are spot on. These are biplanes not fighter jets! Great game so far, makes me miss my Amiga!
Good..but not like the classic and it's only a trial. It's a good attemp and I like the fact that the old games are getting a revamp. However this losses out due to sluggish controls. The speed gain againsy the enemy is too much. As you fly by and bank around you line up and over shoot the enemy as you have about doubke the speed. When you do turn and try to level out it takes ages to correct. Fix that and the games a good one.
Randomly closes down :-( Not managed to fly throught the first ring yet, closes down during loading screen or after flight starts on an Xperia Play. Will keep an eye on this though, fond teenage memories of Cinemaware titles on my Amiga. Emulated cinemaware collection for PS3? Take my money :-)
Brilliant but needs a few adjustments As a few have said the plane is too fast compared to the enemy. Easy to over shoot the enemy. Fire button could do with making a little larger. Death March on being killed. All in all love what you have done. Absolutely brilliant. :-)
No control Looks nice for the 15seconds you see spinning hopelessly. I hope it supports ps3 controller or I will never apply myself to play the game. Touch screen controls make every game a bad experience.
Extremely poor controls. Did not even get past the tutorial flying through the rings. Way too frustrating. Controls need a lot of work. Graphics are just OK, and UI looks rough and unpolished. I hope this is more of an alpha rather than a demo. I loved Cinemaware back in the 1980s on my Amiga 1000, but not this. The Cinemaware website even has plenty of 404 errors. Not looking good.
Cool... but not playable When it is possible to hit a target, target turns red. This happens too late before crashing into an object. Or the plane moves too fast. Can't steer away fast enough. Tried both accelerometer control and the finger control. Otherwise I had no problem with control. I can't get through the zeppelin mission and had problems blasting the von something out of the air before crashing into he's plane. Otherwise I would happily given it 5 stars.
Great so far! I see lots of complaints about controls. You're piloting a rickety 1st Gen biplane. The controls are supposed shake and wobble. I vaguely recall this even happening to some extent on the Amiga. After some missions the planes and controls got better. My only complaint is the text is often waaaaay too tiny on my phone.
hm where are strafing and bombing missions? where are rudder controls? you should look and feel red Baron 2 and learn something. this is,afther all,a fancy shooter. proper atmosphere went to hell, because it is better on Amiga. I just don't get game making people.I mean they have superior technology now,but are incompetent to make something better from the past.or maybe they are just incompetent.where is the bloody throtle?how can one fly without throtle?
Your Country Needs You, sign up below.... I clocked up many hours on wings on my trusty amiga. Trying to survive bloody April and take down the Red Baron (never succeed).. This is what I've been waiting for... remade and updated, can't wait for the rest... oh and cinemaware you need to do "it came from the desert"...also devs if you cold make the joystick control larger / more sensitive that would be great!
No improvement I loved the original wings on the amiga and played it to death. With the original version available as app this remastered version with its inferior controls seems pointless.
Weak Looks good. But controls are terrible. Doesn't feel like flying. Targets are out of range, then they are in range and one hit blues them up. Not as good as knights of the sky. Wish that was on android.
Blast from the past - but better! Tantalising taste of what is hopefully to come. Iconic remake very faithfully done. Don't understand the bleating about bad controls - some games you have to work at!
Needs improvements Wings used to be 1 of my fav Amiga games, so much so that I didn't hesitate to play it again on my psp through an emulator. I have to say that the remastered edition is a dissapointment and I hope cinemaware think twice b4 releasing it as it is..because frankly I still prefer the original over this.Weaknesses: explosions when u strike a plane are unnecessary and dull. Possibly make the virtual analogue a bit bigger or give us that option. Its hard to tell where the ground is, feels like I'm flying over hell
Controls need a lot of work. Controls are broken. I do hope when the full game is finally made the control of the game is better than it is now. Shame as i really loved this game from my youth.
Almost there Wings was my all time favorite Amiga game and this reboot looks beautiful but the controls seem too sensitive and make it difficult to fly. I would love to see it tweaked slightly but the team is doing a great job of recreating a classic.
Need reverse direction for joystick This looks like it has the potential to be a great port, but for me it's unplayable with a flight joystick that takes you up when you push forward and down when you pull back, That's instinctive for me, and by the time I try to correct for pushing the joystick in the wrong direction it's too late. Please consider adding an option to reverse the up/down control on the virtual joystick!
Controls shot down Controls won't work correctly. Tilt doesn't work unless I'm pointing it to the stars and still doesn't work very well. Graphics look ok but that's it. It need work big time. Unplayable. Note 3.
Good idea, bad controls. Used to love this in the good old days but the controls really are terrible. Hopefully the final version will improve this?
Not a bad effort. Done use joystick controls though they are awful.
Terrible The control system is a joke. Hopefully it will improve, but as it stands this is an insult to the original.
Disappointing Absolutely loved the Amiga version but this is way off. Control's are terrible
Hours of fun... Fantastic game in its original state on the Amiga, now being revamped im thrilled to bits.. Well done cinemaware for getting this back out....
It ok Graphic is good way of presentation also good, but no controls only fire button is thr, no take off n landing, no different angle view, it's just like tilting ur phone here n thr n only firing. Please add details to the plane n some landing n take off too
Still needs a lot of work doing but shows a lot of potential Controls are a little fiddly and graphic still need work doing, however the game shows a lot of potential . looking forward to the final version.
Was very excited to see this.. Needs work buttons are too small to be useful...miss the fire button most of the time and pause/menu don't work...keeping it in hopes of updates.
Poor controls and annoying pop ups spoil what was my favourite childhood game
Broken game controls!!! Game is broken and controls are WORST EVER, for any game, ever made!!! ALL TIME BROKEN
Loved the original but.. Loved the original and would happily pay for this game but can't control the plane at all. Couldn't even fly through the first hoop :(
To all thos cry babies!,learn how to fly!,before you start talk in your bull----!!.
Crashes on loading Once into the game it crashes on my S4
Needs polish What's with the ridiculously small unreadable font?
Poor controls Controls are poor. Plane just spins around.
Brilliant game demo. Well done Cinemaware. Hopefully the kick starter campaign is a roaring sucess
Nostalgia I remembered the old days. New gen couldn't understand its importance. It is ancestor of plane simulation games.
Shocking Dismal and an insult to the original. Shame on you.
Too bad Loved it on Amiga, totally unplayable on tablet!
Need larger font !!!! On my Galaxy tab s 10.5" the text is almost 1mm high. I need a magnifying glass to read the buttons!
Nostalgic and fun, but.......... I would give a higher score, but the writing is too small to read on my galaxy note 4. Please fix.
One of my favorites from the old time
